Spring Break 2012 :: Destination Pittsburgh
New INFO PLEASE READ!
The Cost is only $250 and that include all travel, lodging, and meals (except meals while traveling and on your free day). The only thing you need is money for food while on the road and any souvenirs or anything of that sort. (NEVER EVER LET MONEY STOP YOU FROM GOING, talk to us!)
Please Pay by using TheCity. You can click on the Giving tab to the lift and in the drop down menu there is a tab for Spring Break Missions. You can pay in increments, as in a payment plan if that would make it easier for you.
A $100 deposit is needed by Feb 15.
For students who live on Campus:
- We have reserved one of the Miami Cabins that has beds and showers and all the like for you to stay in Friday prior to leaving and Saturday when we return. You do not have to worry about that. We can help you get transportation to the cabin and then we will ALL leave from there Saturday. You are still responsible for feeding yourself Friday Night and Saturday Morning, but there will be transportation to get you to McDs or something of the sort.
For Everyone:
A Packing List is in the works but here is some normal stuff that we recommend that you might want to get from home, the rest is your basic items:
- Sleeping Bag
- Air Mattress (not required/recommended)
- Pillow
- shower shoes (the showers are not located in the same buidling)
- towels
- clothes you can build a church in (literally) including pour a foundation and lay a parking lot
- clothes to play ultimate or other sports
- normal everyday clothes
- comfortable shoes
- extra pair of shoes
- 1 set of clothes for an OBF type Sunday Morning, slightly more dressy than the Bridge (not jeans)/ guys khakis
- Soap/Shampoo
- possibly more to come but this should help get you started…. ask questions below if you have them!

Please make Sure you have a your insurance card or at least a copy of it with you. If you do not have one please contact your parents or the school if you have your insurance through the school BEFORE THE END OF THIS WEEK. We will ask about this on Sunday.
You will also need a form of Photo ID with you on this trip (like a drivers license or state issued ID).
Friday & Saturday Arrangements:
The WRA Cabin is officially reserved for Friday night prior to our departure and Saturday when we return. We ask that everyone who lives on campus please take advantage of this so that it is easier to track you down when we are packing up on Saturday morning.
Remember we will have the vans on Friday Afternoon and will post on here who will have the keys and will be shuttling people and their luggage to the cabin. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THE DRIVER!
IF you live on campus and have a car in town please park at DITMER and use the shuttle service provided by one of your chauffeurs.
ATTENTION! all our SB participants the departure location is now the parking lot behind Shriver at 8 a.m. tomorrow! spread the word!
- if you have a parking pass your car can stay there, if not you need to work out how you are going to get there and get your car back to where it can stay for the week BEFORE 8 a.m.
- NO CARS can be left at The Bridge House or in The OBF Parking Lot
- If you are late, there is a good chance you will get left
When it comes to luggage pack light and label everything with your NAME.
When we return the cabin will be available for anyone who needs a place to stay, but DO NOT LEAVE STUFF IN THE CABIN DURING THE WEEK WHILE WE ARE GONE… We will have to pay for that if you do.
If you do not have a parking pass for ditmer, there is space at my apartment complex (no pass needed) where you can leave you car for the week and I can try to look out for it. I can drop you off at ditmer that morning if needed. Just let me know.
After 3:05 p.m. tomorrow Adam Leach will be available to pick people up and take them and their luggage to the cabin and back to the Bridge House if they want to hang out there in the mean time.
Please make your own arrangements with Adam by texting him at 224.578.5854- it is not a good idea to wait to the last minute when you are ready to go, plan ahead and let him know.
